The Son in the Sunrise by Reed Leiting
"The Son in the Sunrise"
When watching a sunrise, it can change slowly or quickly. The cloud cover and wind speed
determine how fast or slow the sky changes. Some mornings, the clouds are racing across the
sky and rapidly changing shapes in a hurry to get somewhere. (Especially this year) The sun
shines through every once in a while, and then it is completely hidden by clouds. On other
days, the clouds don’t seem to move at all. The sky can be covered with clouds or completely
clear. Yet, the sun is always shining above the clouds when we are unable to see it.
The clouds in the sky are symbolic of the clouds or trials in our lives. Sometimes trials seem to
be short lived. Almost like just a bump in the road. Other trials come and seem to stay so, so
long. They just keep coming with no end in sight.
When a trial comes, we often don’t know how long it is going to stay or how hard it will be. Trials keep changing, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to them. BUT there is always one constant- the “Son” is still present. Just like the sun continues to shine above the clouds,
the SON continues to shine in our lives. God never changes.
Malachi 3:6 “I the LORD do not change…” His promises and love for us never changes. As the trial clouds clear in our lives, He will certainly shine through. He is who we need to focus on in all our trials! In every sunrise, focus on the “Son” that is at every sunrise. Even when the sky is overcast, He is there!
Lamentations 3:22,23 “…his mercies…they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
