Thank You Lord by Libby Johnson

“Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart that I may fear your name. I will praise you Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.” Psalm 86:11-12

One of my favorite Christians artists is Jon Guerra, who has recently released a new album with a song titled “Thank You Lord”. Some of the lyrics are as follows:

With all that is within me I want to know your ways
The light of my salvation will never fade
The riches of your kindness have always been my strength
And Christ is with me always through every age
This is life, this is love
To be still and know you
All that’s lost will be gained
Thank you Lord, thank you Lord

I’ve recently been convicted of how much I rely on myself rather than choosing to trust that the Lord is faithful each and every day. I get fearful and anxious and try to fix situations by relying on my own strength, which admittedly, is minimal. And so, the lyrics to this song have quickly become a daily prayer that helps me be still, seek the Lord’s ways, and rely on his faithfulness, for Christ is truly with me always through every age.

Thank you Lord, for your presence and daily blessings. Help us to rely on your faithfulness alone, trusting that you will give us strength, and that you will be with us always, through every struggle and every joy. Amen.
