Seasons of Change by Jason Ling

Ecclesiastes 3:1, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:”

Well it's that time of year again. Summer is ending and at least in our house change is on the way. School is ready to start up, harvest is being planned, and schedules are drastically changing. All this signals the big change of season that’s about to take place.

Sometimes that change of season can be very difficult. I had so much more I wanted to accomplish this summer and I can begin to feel a little down knowing that it's over. This can also mean the change of season in our own lives. We may begin to question why, how do I change, or even where do I fit in now? Sometimes change is new and exciting with unknowns unfolding before us. Never the less, change happens whether we like it or not and this is still part of God’s grand plan.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us that there is a time or a season for everything and that it is indeed part of His plan for us. Change is a time for us to reevaluate and start fresh. Change can be a time of growth for each one of us in our own way just as God desires. It's a time to lean on Him, the one who never changes.  "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." Hebrews 13:8

I encourage us all to turn to Christ in our seasons of change and rely on Him to be the rock and foundation of our lives. Trust that He is doing all things to draw us closer to Him. Listen to what He has to say in a world that’s full of change.

Lord I pray we all accept our current season as your will and perfect timing for our lives. That each one of us finds comfort and familiarity in you, who always has our best interest in mind. Amen.
