Draw Near To God by Mike Moore

Charles Spurgeon wrote that “nothing teaches us about the  preciousness of the Creator as much as when we learn the emptiness of everything else.” Here are a few verses to help us draw near to God by turning away from everything else:

Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.  James 4:8

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek Him with their whole heart. Psalms 119:2

Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. Proverbs 3:7

These verses,  and many more like these,  show us how we can draw close and stay close to God. We are told to cleanse ourselves, and purify our hearts, repenting from our worldly behaviors. We must take action, seeking God with all our strength and will. And we must clear our minds of any sense of replacing what God wants with our own agendas.

When we humbly come before God, repenting for our actions, and truly seeking to be near God, He will show us himself and we will know He is near.
